Some good guidance for choosing a good insurance company

There is one useful article giving good advice for choosing a good insurance company, if you are interested in opting for insurance policies as a tool of your investments, so that you are fully secured. The link for that article is here. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/five-things-to-consider-while-choosing-the-right-insurance-company/investarticleshow/46597607.cms?ncode=609fa7314fd94eccab827276fe97a7e4

The author has highlighted points like choosing the right insurance company, looking at the cost factors of the policy, checking companies history, its ability to pay your claims and their hospitality towards customers, etc. I thought it to be of much help while browsing on economictimes.com. So linked here.

A Comment on approval of Ordinance on Coal and Insurance

My Comment on an article "Cabinet approves ordinance on Coal and Insurance" published in the economictimes.com Dated 24/12/2014 at 10:10 pm.

"The Ordinance should have been promulgated long before.

Increase of FDI in insurance has been unnecessarily delayed all these years. It is good that now at least, the BJP government has been able to promulgate it.

Regarding coal blocks, it was already there in government hands the power to allocate coal blocks which has been mishandled by the coal ministry. Let us hope, this time they will do it properly leaving no scope for any grievances to any party and public.

A Comment on How much insurance do you need

My Comment on an article "How much insurance do you need?" published in Economic Times Dated 24/06/2014 at 4:50 pm

"Very useful article with tables and illustrative charts.

The cover needed for 30 years individual with 40 lakh income is shown as 3 crores. But a person with 35-40 years in same income group is advised to have insurance for only 1 crore. Why so much difference in 5 years gap?"

Is it because he would have earned Rs. 2 crores in that 5 year gap? But he must have spent also much of it in those five years.

A comment on need for checking insurance company's history

My Comment on an article "Don't be lured by low premiums. Check company's settlement record too" published in the Economic Times dated 01/03/2014 at 10:40 am.

"A very useful post. Must be read by people looking for buying insurance policies.

As pointed out by the writer, we must look at all clauses and history track of previous settlements of the insurance company before opting for insurance from the company."
