The link insurance contribution ranges and minimum contribution amounts have also been substantially increased now to cater to their retirement benefits and social security plans.''

A Comment on increase of monthly minimum pension to Rs.1,000

My Comment on an article "Proposal for Rs.1,000 minimum monthly pension approved: Government" published in the Economic Times Dated 07/07/2014 at 5:20 pm.


"A very good decision. Minimum pension being raised to Rs.1000 per month is a great gift for most of those who are drawing only upto half of that amount at present. 

It will be a great relief to the pensioner as he may not be compelled to depend on his kins for even pocket expenses and daily needs which may not be common for other members of family. He can live with some self respect."

My Comment on an article "Government approves Rs.1000 minimum monthly pension under EPS - 95" published in the Economic Times dated 01/03/2014 at 10:47 am.


"A good step taken by government. 

Providing minimum pension of Rs.1,000 is the most need of the hour as it can be some what relief to pensioners in meeting some urgent bare needs if not all for their livelihood. 

But it is mentioned that it will benefit only 28 lakh people immediately. Why not  the remaining others of the total pensioners of 44 lakhs?"

	''I already mentioned that it might be an election game. But, whatever may be the game, it is somewhat profitable to some of the ex-service men if not to all. I mean it is better than nothing. That is what I have said. Not that they have done a great favour or benefit to all.''
