A Comment on Legalising Betting Operations

My Comment on an article in The Economic Times titled "Legalise betting to counter spot-fixing" published on Dated 24/05/2013 at 2:50 pm.


 May be FICCI's argument is correct. Legalising may control betting operations and at the same time fund the government in way of taxes collected on the bet money. So government should consider this advice to control underground operations in black money and to control corrupt practices

	''It is good that IPL matches have not been stopped. It was not fair to cancel the games because of some tainted players. The corrupt should be punished but not the spirit of game.  Games are means of healthy entertainment for both players and viewers. So only corrupt practices are to be controlled. Public should not be derived of entertainment which is healthy for life.''

	''Very sad news. This session of IPL was going on so smoothly and now this shocking news.  Why some players are so dishonest to the spirit of game? Are they paid less money and want to make money in this manner to meet some urgent requirements of their personal problems ?  What is the need for making money in such a shameful way cheating other players and the country?''
