The Parody of A Caged Parrot vs Caesar's Wife

In the Supreme Court's judgment on the bail plea of Arvind Kejriwal, we came across a reference to the CBI being termed as "A Caged Parrot" and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan's remark asking the CBI to take steps to remove the perception of being a caged parrot. He said that "like Caesar's wife it should be above suspicion while conducting an investigation.

I wanted to know what was Caesar's wife's suspicious act. Why the term "Caesar's Wife" became a parable? I googled and found this article on Wikipedia which clarified my doubts.

When Caesar was elected to be the Chief Priest of the Roman State Religion, one of his wives, Pompeia hosted a festival of Good Goddess " Bona Dea in 62 BC. It was a festival for ladies and no men were allowed. But a male managed to enter there disguised as a woman and got caught. It was a disgrace and Caesar divorced Pompeia saying that his wife should be above suspicion.

This incident gave rise to the proverb "Caesar's wife should be above suspicion".

Here is the link to the story.

A Comment on Kejriwal's demand for roll back of demonetization of currency notes

My Comment on an article published in the retail.economictimes.indiatimes.com titled "Arvind Kejriwal demands the rollback of demonetization" on 12/11/2016.

"The allegations made by Kejriwal are irrational and baseless.

If Bank deposits increased, it has become white money already and taxmen will take care of it.

Regarding purchase of Gold and foreign exchange, it will also come into the light in due course and the people are liable to account for it and pay taxes.

It is a win-win situation for the government, either way.

The brokers will also be got noticed as the Big Boss is watching them already."

A comment on Aam Admi Party's clash and what should take place

My Comment on an article titled "All you want to know about AAP's clash" published in the timesofindia.com Dated 28/03/2015 at 4 pm.

"Very minute differences between them. Most of the demands are acceptable to both factions of the AAP.

So they need not defect and form new parties.
And, as you see they have not been expelled from party membership.

I hope they will be consulted in all major decisions even now. So, there should not be any other problems in their being united even now.

Let us hope all will be settled and AAP will remain an ideal party even now and meet to the expectations of public who trust them."

A Comment on Aam Aadmi Party internal differences

Your comment on the article ''Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan sacked from AAP national executive'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 28/03/2015 at 3:20 pm.

''Very sad happenings in AAP. They should have solved the problems through discussions.

But, it is difficult to point fingers at any of them without knowing full details and facts.

So, hope now at least, the party may be able to function normally and peacefully and be able to fulfil the promises made by Arvind Kejriwal.''

A Comment on Cracks within AAP and blame games

My Comment on an article "Cracks within AAP widen further, Mayank Gandhi says gag order completely wrong" published in the economictimes.com Dated 07/03/2015 at 10:40 pm.

"This is the game of politics. Politics is such a bad addiction that never allows anybody to remain honest and loyal.

Our leaders should be aloof from politics and work as only representatives of people.

This kind of internal differences suggest to the lust for power. One leader wanting to dominate the other so as to control decision making and gain absolute power. This is very bad of any political party.

Some leaders are good in themselves. But circumstances do not allow them to be good."

A further Comment: (published same time)
"I hope AK will be learning from experiences and stand out as a good leader if his men allow him to do so."

A Comment on Arvind Kejriwal being sworn-in as CM at Delhi

My Comment on an article "AAP government takes charge: Kejriwal, 6 ministers sworn in" published in the timesofindia.com Dated 14/02/2015 at 3:30 pm.

"Very glad to see. Now, he should act with more responsibility and prudence to keep all his promises and to win the confidence of his people for ever.

All previous mistakes and childish behaviour of his party men should be guidelines for their improvement and better performance.

I further hope that after Delhi, people of Punjab and Haryana will also become his fans.

All my best wishes to Arvind Kejriwal and his party."

A Comment on Arvind Kejriwal and Amitabh Bachan sharing poetry

My Comment on an article "Amitabh Bachan, Arvind Kejriwal bond with poem: Tweet" published in the timesofIndia.com Dated 14/02/2015.

"Very great song. " The story of Ant gathering food and climbing walls to reach its destination in spite of so many falls" is a great example for man. We should try and try and try again always with full confidence and hope.

The spider also does the same job. It spins webs. During that act, it falls and climbs again and goes spinning. people remove those webs. But it again spins fresh. It never stops at her work.

These are examples for men who want to be successful in life.
Never lose hope and give up your attempts.
Go on trying again and again. and You will definitely succeed."

A Comment on Promises to be kept by Aam Aadmi Party

My Comment on an article "15 key promises AAP has made" published in the economictimes.com Dated 11/02/2015 at 3 pm.

"Great manifesto with good promises.

All points are equally important and helpful in common man's interest. They should try to make these things really achievable with good planning and supervision.

Let us hope AAP succeeds in achieving these goals as far as possible in a shorter span itself to win the confidence of people."

A Comment on Arvind Kejriwal and his party's triumphant win in Delhi

My Comment on an article "Delhi poll results: Arvind Kejriwal positions himself as a 'change agent' published in the economictimes.com on Dated 11/02/2015 at 2:45 pm.

"Very amazing & hilarious comeback. He is the "Superman Returns".

Delhiites have showered their unconditional support for him even after his failure in his first attempt as CM. This shows how much confident they are that this man can do something great for them.

So, now Arvind Kejriwal and his men should keep this trust and confidence of people by performing well in the coming days and months. Let us wish him all the best."

A Comment on dissents among AAP leaders

Your comment on the article ''Arvind Kejriwal: Yogendra Yadav a valued colleague, will also try to bring Shazia Ilmi back into AAP'' is now displayed ontimesofindia.com Dated 07/06/2014 at 3:17 pm.

''AAP was a great tool for combating corruption.

But some childish and irresponsible behaviour of its top leaders spoiled all the image.

Kejriwal should rethink and workout new strategies sincerely in strengthening the party again and gain some confidence of people.''

A Comment on Yashwant Sinha not opting for bail

Your comment on the article ''Yashwant Sinha does a Kejriwal, sent to jail for 14 days'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 04/06/2014 at 1:15 pm.

''If they are really fighting for social justice, it is quite good.

Honest people should rise and fight for social causes just like Anna Hazare's movement.

Only then, our administrations will function honestly without logjams and corruption.''

A Comment on Kejriwal and his parents being forced to leave temple complex

Your comment on the article ''Kejriwal, his parents forced to leave temple complex'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 19/04/2014 at 10:15 am.

''May be. It is not proper taking advantage of his position and status inside temple premises.

Temple premises should be a collective property of all devotees visiting the temples. All should be treated as equal inside the premises.

So Kejriwal and his parents should not feel embarrassed because of their movement from there.

But they have all right to stay in Varanasi as long as they want to be there. No one should create tension to oust them from that holy city.''

A Comment on Narendra Modi's dilemma in handling Arvind Kejriwal

My Reply to a comment by a reader on the article "Narendra Modi's dilemma in countering Arvind Kejriwal threat" published in the Economic Times dated 07/03/2014 at 12:08 pm.

"You appear to be very aggressive and losing sense of words.

Learn to be cool and calm while commenting.

I think media people are making breaking news of small things. Not that Kejriwal is drawing media. Otherwise, why should they stop so many times him when going on his work?'

A Comment on Arvind Kejriwal trip to Gujarat

My Comment on an article " Arvind Kejriwal's fact finding trip to Gujarat turns into media circus" published in the EConomic Times Dated 07/03/2014 at 11:55 am.

"He is not a joker but a very clever man.

The administration of Gujarat were worried by his tour and that resulted in the circus.

The model code of conduct was brought into effect only after his journey started. So it may be not his fault. He was interrupted by media and police in his efforts to interact with people."

A Comment on Modi's dilemma in dealing with Kejriwal

My Comment on an article "Narendra Modi's dilemma in countering Arvind Kejriwal threat" published in the Economic Times Dated 07/03/2014 at 11:18 am.

"A good analysis. Modi appears to be scared of Kejriwal.

Whatever Kejriwal's intention was in touring Gujarat, his detention and further clashes may appear to be prohibiting him in his mission of fact finding.

It may imply that something is wrong in Modi's claim of Gujarat development story. And so Kejriwal has been stopped from completing his mission."

A Comment on Arvind Kejriwal's violation of code of conduct

My Comment on an article "Prima facie Arvind Kejriwal violated model code of conduct" published in the Economic Times Dated 06/03/2014 at 11:40 pm.

"TV and media people also need to be instructed not to make issues of petty incidents by projecting them as breaking news and in Top Headlines."

These breaking news and online media and newspaper headlines can make damage as public may think tiny incidents as major events."

A Comment on Kejriwal, PWD and media

Your comment on the article ''Kejriwal overstays at official bungalow, officials ‘worried’'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com dated 06/03/2014 at 9: 48 pm.

''PWD and Kejriwal should settle the issue within themselves.

PWD can know from him whether he wants to stay further and act accordingly.

Why unnecessary defamation in media? Many ministers are living like this. Why was not highlighted by media in all those previous cases? Why target a single man? It shows partiality of media.''

A Comment on Kejriwal asking Modi about BJP's bias towards Mukesh Ambani

My Comment on an article "Arvind Kejriwal writes to Narendra Modi: Asks him to come clean on 'BJP's bias' towards Mukesh Ambani" published in the Economic Times Dated 21/02/2014 at 5:23 pm.

"A good quiz.

But such things can be asked with any politician as all politicians have some source of income and some type of influential people with them.

I think this is all over the world. So no use in asking such questions.

One must concentrate on actions. How to remove corruption? this is the fundamental question that is to be asked within oneself and with others also. Can anybody have reply to this question with a practical approach?
