He is trying to create awareness among people and setting himself as an example by jumping to action instead of lecturing or showing authority over subordinates to get the environment cleaned for a swatch Bharat. It should shed the cloaks of superiority or authoritarianism of the high profile administrators and make them act honestly and be examples to society.''

A Comment on Swachch Bharat Abhiyan possible without Brooms

My Comment on a debate/slideshow "Prez participates in Swach Bharat Abhiyan" published in the economictimes.com Dated 04/10/2014 at 5:30 pm. 


"If we practice some good habits, there will be no need for the brooms. 

Do not throw garbage open but put it in dustbins while on public places or on road or trains. 

For this, firstly the administration should provide for garbage boxes which can be designed just like the letter boxes. You can easily drop the wrappers or waste papers and anything into the boxes which will be secure and do not get squattered all over the environment. 

The garbage collector will be collecting it daily at his own time and transport it to remote dust dumping points from where they can be recycled or disposed off hygienically".

"He is brave enough to launch the campaign by actively participating in the cleaning programme. 

But it needs much contribution and awareness by all people of the country. By simply launching the campaign it do not get yielding the results. 

Each one of us must be responsible in keeping our home and surroundings neat and hygienic. It requires some time and sacrifice from each of us."

	''It is a good project kick started by our PM Narendra Modi. But spending so huge an amount of thousands of crores and that long depth of duration are too much in my opinion. Besides the cleaning programme, we must create an awareness programme also among our public to learn good habits of keeping clean their homes, neighbourhoods and workplaces so that they do not contribute adding to the already huge hills of litter lying all over the lanes and places. It should not take so much time or fund investment to achieve the results. Government should impose penalties also on those who litter inspite of this.''
