A comment on decreasing social and moral values of humanity

I have come across a discussion on the issue of Digvijay Singh's affair with young TV anchor Amrita Rai published in the Deccan Chronicle (Hyderabad Edition) dated 04/05/2014 on their page 2.

I would like to express my views here.

I do not find fault with the above mentioned people here. But am speaking of our society as a whole.

Our Indian age old culture is to respect moral and ethical values as well as human values of entire society. Whenever we think, speak or act all our responses should be based on a principle of maintaining our own culture and heritage. We should be a good example and guide for our children and neighbours. We should respect our family values and should be a pride for our parents and elders. We should not do whatever we think is good as per our modern mixed cultured environment. We should think from our heart and be able to see good and bad for our family and society. Selfishness and emotions should not overtake us. We should be able to control our feelings and emotions for the sake of maintaining good manners for a healthy society.

So, what is the basis of the India’s social order? It is the caste law. I am born for the caste; I live for the caste….Born in the caste, the whole life must be lived according to caste regulation. In the other words, in the present-day language…the Western man is born individualistic, while the Hindu is socialistic-entirely socialistic…, So, I have no voice in my marriage, or my sister. It is the caste that determines all that. We are married sometimes as children. Why? Because the caste says, if they have to be married anyway without their consent, it is better that they are married early….You may say, “Oh, they lose a great deal of enjoyment-those exquisite emotions of a man falling in love with a woman, and a woman falling in love with a man….”But the Hindu says, “We are socialistic. For the sake of one man’s or one women’s exquisite pleasure, we don’t want to load misery on hundreds of others”. Vivekananda's saying.


My Reply to him:
It seems you are frustrated and oppressed by your family and caste. You need not live a forced life. you are at liberty to chose among options. Do not be negative in your thoughts and feelings. Try to see positively and you have ample scope to determine your life among available options. But you must be rational and not flown by emotions.

	''Even though I am not a viewer of satyamevjayate, I do come to know from circles, that that TV program, or any other previous ones, does not depict both sides of a story. They are one sided truths and depictions. Further more, I would like to say most of the movies and tv serials are concentrating on social evils and violence to the utmost extent. Most terrific villainous roles are being created to the utmost unrealistic extent. Lady characters torturing men and bahus in many TV serials to a very horribly extent has become a common factor nowadays. All these types of creations will deteriorate the values of our human society. It will spread violence and corruption in society.''

''It is true. People are becoming crazy. In the name of fashion they are wasting thousands of rupees to buy a single wear. They are allured by the dazzling designs and cut outs and not caring whether it is comfortable, whether it is suitable to wear in public,etc. They are becoming addicts. Due to this skin shows are increasing thereby leading to crimes. Our whole society is getting spoiled.''
