A Comment on Increase of Customs Duty on Electronic and Jewelry Items

My Comment on the recent increase of Customs Duty on certain items in reply to an article "Government hikes Import Duty on 19 items to curb widening CAD" published in the economictimes.com Dated 27/09/2018.

"I don't know that most of these electric, electronic and Jewellery items are coming from abroad. 

Why, are we deficient in the production of these goods? It is good to prohibit imports. We should promote our own Made in India goods.

But, do not scare the public with unnecessary propaganda nor try to increase the prices with this excuse."

A Comment on easing of Gold import curbs

My comment on an article "Government considers easing Gold import curbs" published in the Economic Times Dated 06/01/2014 at 10:40 pm.


"Easing of import curbs will bring down the prices of gold to some extent as there will be much supply. 

Added to this will be lowering of duties which is good for gold buyers."
