A comment on "bell curve" method of employee assessment

My Comment on an article "Employee assessment tool ' bell curve ' loses popularity published in the Economic Times dated 11/05/2014 at 12:50 pm.

"A good analysis by the writer showing both uses and weaknesses of bell curve method of assessing employees.

It may good for identifying managerial skilled people but not for assessment of employee performance.

Remuneration and perks should always be based on performance of employee. So the bell curve does not work for this purpose. It is not good to remunerate employees on its basis.

A Comment on FIFA world cup players' tastes and demands

Your comment on the article '''Some want special soap, others want bananas': Brazilian hoteliers surprised by World Cup teams’ extravagant demands'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 11/05/2014 at 10:56 am

''Everything is changing now. People have different kinds of likes and habits. New products are emerging according to tastes.

But common man like me do not find anything real difference in those products. All are made of same stuff with different names and brands.

They cash on the people's demands by naming them with different names and preparing them in different styles. The costs are also too high for such items, whereas the same functions are done by one single soap of normal cost.''

A comment on Rahul being in polling stations during voting hours

Your comment on the article ''Rahul was in EVM enclosure during voting hours in Amethi'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 08/05/2014 at 08/05/2014 at 11: 20 am.

''In the last but one paragraph it is said that "a candidate can enter the polling booth during polling hours and interact with voters".

Then in the last para it is being said that "the penalty against candidate for violating the law is not clear".

Does it not seem to be ambiguous? Where is the question of violating the law if the candidate can enter and interact with voters. It seems the writer is much confused and ambiguous in his statements.''

A Comment on stalling of TV show of Mahatma Gandhi's killing by Godse

Your comment on the article ''Doordarshan got cold feet, stalled TV show on Mahatma’s killing'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 08/05/2014 at 10:45 am.

''Good quote. Sensitive issues are better when we talk as little as possible of them.

Going into details and filming it is very harmful to society. Our minds are much susceptible to such things. They rise our emotions and make us weep or smile or get violent and react sharply.

So it is better to talk as less of them as possible.''

A further comment on rupee value

My reply to a comment of a reader stating that rupee value should be at 56 per dollar published in the Economic Times Dated 08/05/2014 at 10 am.

"Very happy that you calculated taking so much considerations of facts. Very good reasoning.

But, I would like to see the rupee at 50 to dollar and stabilise at that rate for ever. May be it may take time.

But I hope we can achieve that with some good planning and control."

A Comment on Rupee's value post May 16 verdict

My Comment on an article "Like in 2009, will rupee shoot up 300 paise post May 16 verdict?" published in the Economic Times Dated 07/05/2014 at 10:20 pm.

"We should not see the results based at a particular event happening.

Real value is determined by taking the average during a certain period of time say 3 months or 6 months. The average can be considered to be the real picture of the rupee.

So need not be happy or sad by noticing a jump or slump in values."

A comment on decreasing social and moral values of humanity

I have come across a discussion on the issue of Digvijay Singh's affair with young TV anchor Amrita Rai published in the Deccan Chronicle (Hyderabad Edition) dated 04/05/2014 on their page 2.

I would like to express my views here.

I do not find fault with the above mentioned people here. But am speaking of our society as a whole.

Our Indian age old culture is to respect moral and ethical values as well as human values of entire society. Whenever we think, speak or act all our responses should be based on a principle of maintaining our own culture and heritage. We should be a good example and guide for our children and neighbours. We should respect our family values and should be a pride for our parents and elders. We should not do whatever we think is good as per our modern mixed cultured environment. We should think from our heart and be able to see good and bad for our family and society. Selfishness and emotions should not overtake us. We should be able to control our feelings and emotions for the sake of maintaining good manners for a healthy society.

A Comment on Gold turning out inauspicious on Akshaya Trtiya

My Comment on an article "Akshaya trithiya turns inauspicious for Gold" published in the Economic Times dated 02/05/2014.

"It is true. Gold is not worthy to be invested as the prices will come down and you suffer loss.

If sentiments do not allow, buy a token value of gold and invest the rest of the amount in better yield giving options."
