My Reply to a comment by reader on Indigenous cryogenic engine

My reply to a comment by Karthik on the topic "HOW ISRO developed Indigenous cryogenic engine published in the Economic Times Dated 09/01/2014 at 12:15 pm.

Karthik .: I really do not understand a point. How was the Russians able to develop a cryogenic technology in the 60's so quickly but where as in India it took 30 years to complete. I dont think the denial of technologies. The Russians was able to build an engine from the scratch. Why did'nt we. ?

MY Reply:   I do not think they were able to develop it in 60's. They might have started working on it along with US. US launched successfully but Russia took many years in succeeding. They were able to launch in 1987 only. Further, our country was economically backward and could not allocate much funds for research and experimenting. So we must appreciate the position of our scientists.
