A Comment emphasizing that compensation for land is never too much

My reply to a comment by a reader on the article "New land law: Cost for Delhi-Jaipur expressway jumps" published on 25/02/2014 at 4:40 pm.

"Yes. You are right.

But as of now, as the land could have been procured at cheaper rates, if this law was not in force, it appears to be a very high price paid for those lands which are in remote places.

Whatever the case, your approach is very positive and very generous. Considering the benefits of future costs and profits, the compensation for land that the owner gets is very normal or below normal."

A Comment on SAIL project providing school children with food

My Comment on an article "57,000 students of 431 schools to benefit from SAIL project" published in the Economic Times Dated 25/02/2014 at 1:19 pm.

"Very good project for the cause of children welfare.

The school children along with their parents will be very happy to have relieved from the stress of mid day meals of the school children and that too when it is a good quality hygienic food."

A Comment on the cost of land for Delhi-Jaipur Expressway

My Comment on an article "New Land Law: Cost for Delhi-Jaipur Expressway jumps" published in the Economic Times Dated 25/02/2014 at 1 pm.

"It means that cost of land will be around more than Rs.6,000 per sq.m. at this rate if 18000 crore is required for 272 km. of 100 meter width.

It should not be too much."

A Comment on Sushil Kumar Shinde's "crushing" media comment

My comment on an article "BJP lashes out at Home Minister over his "crushing media" remark" published in the Economic Times Dated 25/02/2014 at 12:45 pm.

Very strange politicians.

They do not mind when uttering something. But when receive criticism, try to cover themselves by crafting some other contexts to their words.

Words should be carefully let out as far as possible. Sensibility and boldness matters."

A Comment on how Green Carpets emerged as a 1.5 crore company from zero investment

My Comment on article "How Myna Batavia made Green Carpets a Rs.1.5 crore company from  nearly zero investment" published in the Economic Times dated 24/02/2014 at 2:58 pm.

From nothing to 3 crores turn over.

Very adventurous journey by a daring woman entrepreneur. She was bold enough to face challenges and put lot of hard work in succeeding her aims.

Kudos to Myna Batavia."

A Comment on Modi accusing Congress of playing fraud with armed forces

My Comment on an article "Congress playing fraud with armed forces: Narendra Modi" published in the Economic Times Dated 23/02/2014 at 10:25 pm.

"Why all these unnecessary filthy accusations against one another?

No one is perfect in this world. Every one has his own weaknesses.

So to achieve anything all should join hands and work together.

Let the elections take place peacefully and thereafter all the elected candidates try to work out some solution for eradicating corruption at all levels and strive for development of the country."

A further Comment on emifreecar.com offering to pay 75% of EMIs

My Reply to a comment by a reader on the article "EMIfreecar.com making car buying Easy" published in the Economic Times Dated 23/02/2014 at 5:22 pm.

"Your calculation is good. But you missed one point.

If you own a car, you will be using it for your daily office reach and for your weekly, monthly marketings and weekend movies, outings, etc.

So you will have to spend on petrol/diesel anyhow. So your extra burden for running 1500 km. is not going to be much. It will be only Rs. 2-3 k that you spend extra. What you receive will be more than 10k a month.

Not a bad bargain. It is very good scheme."

A Comment on EMIfreecar.com making buying cars easy

My Comment on an article "EMIfreecar.com: This startup makes buying cars easier by placing ads and paying 75% of EMIs" published in the Economic Times Dated23/02/2014 at 5:12 pm.

"Very good concept of business making by EMIfreecar.com who is paying 75% of EMIs on behalf of customer so that he is relieved from instant funding of his car.

Our young startups are coming with new and wonderful ideas of business making.

These ideas work out also beneficially for both the entrepreneur and the customer. Very good to know."

A Comment on Comedy Business Boom in India

My Comment on an article "The Comedy business boom: Comedians in India learn to make big money" published in the Economic Times Dated 23/02/2014 at 12:58 pm.

"A very talented and gifted group of persons.

Humour is a gift for anybody. It makes us laugh full hearted and as innocent as a child.

It is good for health as it relieves us from stress and strain and we forget all our pains in the company of a comedian. It is a great art and innate talent of the comedian.

Our country has much stock of them though most of them are unrecognized and do not come to limelight."

A Comment on India not doing well in education sector to draw foreign students

Your comment on the article ''Brain drain in reverse: China now world's No. 3 education hub'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 23/02/2014 at 12:34 pm.

''India is both economically and politically disturbed.

Even though some state governments have stable governments, they are also not doing much in education sector.

Private institutions can attract foreigners. Many private institutions and universities are emerging with bright standards and efficient staff. They can be destinations of foreign students.

Our government should relax some laws and offer incentives to the institutions to equip themselves with modern tools and facilities for improving the standards of education with an aim to produce practically beneficial education instead of mere theoretical knowledge.''

A Comment on NGO boom in India with a tally of one NGO for 600 people

Your comment on the article ''India witnessing NGO boom, there is 1 for every 600 people'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 23/02/2014 at 11:45 pm.

''The figures are very astonishing. 3.69lakh NGOs in Kerala? Very amazing. A tiny state having so many NGOs is very suspicious matter.

MP has only 1.40 lakh whereas it is a big state. UP state with 5.48 lakh is leading in the row.

CAG may conduct auditing of all these NGOs. There should be proper record of funds collected and how they are being spent.

Their activities be supervised by CBI department.''

A Comment on El Nino threatening to hit Global food production

My Comment on an article "El Nino threatens to return, hit Global food production" published in the Economic Times dated 22/02/2014 at 4:35 pm.

"Very alarming and serious problem ahead, if it is true.

Drought in some regions and floods at other regions combined will severely affect the food produce and stocks all over the world.

Precautions need to be planned and steps taken immediately to face this serious natural calamity."

A Comment on El Nino triggering drought in India

My Comment on an article  "El Nino threatens to return, may trigger drought in India" published in the Economic Times Dated 22/02/2014 at 4:30 pm.

"Very Bad news. Drought conditions are ahead for India as El Nino could damage our produce and result in shortage of food products and price increases.

General elections combined with drought is a calamity for our country.

Is there any solution and plans with our political leaders?"

A Comment on Congress manifesto promising 100 million jobs

My Comment on an article "Congress manifesto promises 100 million skilled jobs for youths in next 10 years" published in the Economic Times Dated 22/02/2014 at  1:35 pm.

"Very good promise. But making promise is very easy which can be done by any one.

Bringing them into practice is the toughest job.

It requires good foresight and planning and channelising the plans into workable projects. It requires great skill and administration and sincere hard work along with better supervision.

A Comment on selecting topics and encouraging negative thinking

My Comment on an article "Why is India unable to spawn successful technology?" published in the Economic Times dated 22/02/2014 at 1:16 pm.

"Why do the writers pounce upon such titles and subject matters for writing, I do not understand.

Such articles hurt the feelings of our people as they appear to discourage and demean our talented youth.

What is the need for pouncing upon such topics and highlight the negative points?

Can't we look at better things and bring them to light instead of discouraging with such topics?"

A Comment on No subsidy on power bills after 31st March in Delhi

My Comment on an article "Power bill to double from April 1st as subsidy ends on March 31st" published in the Economic Times dated 22/02/2014 at 12:55 pm.

"For 3, 4 months they enjoyed the subsidy. At least that much has been done by Kejriwal government.

One more thing is to arrange for the audit of power companies. If the audit gets done sincerely without government's intervention, the results may bring some changes in the rates of power tariff.

Let us wait and see what happens."

A Comment on security cover of our so-called big persons

Your comment on the article ''Raj, Uddhav Thackeray enjoy extra security cover even as their parties run riot'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 22/02/2014 at 12:39 pm.

''Very good protection. They and many others are assets of our country.

They deserve crores and billions of expenditure for maintaining and protecting their lives at the cost of public. What a good justice policy of our liberal democracy.

Our public should be liberal minded to bear all this burden on economy.''

A Comment on Telangana's official birth

Your comment on the article ''When will Telangana be officially born?'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 22/02/2014 at 12:30 pm.

''When will it officially born? When a decision is taken to declare it born by cutting the ribbon and announcing the birth officially.

Anyhow, it is already declared to be born and so nothing to worry.

Main thing to worry is how to administer it, from where to start and how to resolve the many mutual issues regarding sharing of staff, funds, power, water and other resources and budgets. We should concentrate on these important matters.''

A Comment on BJP claiming credit for creating Telangana

My Comment on an article "BJP fulfilled twin objectives of creating Telangana and ensuring justice for Seemandhra" published in the Economic Times Dated 21/02/2014 at 5:30 pm.

"I do not think so.

Both Congress and BJP played the politics to win their big slice of vote bank.

The actual credit should go to the people of Telangana only who fought for the cause and got it at last."

A Comment on Kejriwal asking Modi about BJP's bias towards Mukesh Ambani

My Comment on an article "Arvind Kejriwal writes to Narendra Modi: Asks him to come clean on 'BJP's bias' towards Mukesh Ambani" published in the Economic Times Dated 21/02/2014 at 5:23 pm.

"A good quiz.

But such things can be asked with any politician as all politicians have some source of income and some type of influential people with them.

I think this is all over the world. So no use in asking such questions.

One must concentrate on actions. How to remove corruption? this is the fundamental question that is to be asked within oneself and with others also. Can anybody have reply to this question with a practical approach?

A Comment on Royal Bank of Scotland shedding 30,000 jobs

My Comment on an article "RBS to shed up to 30,000 jobs, shrink investment bank" published in the Economic Times dated 21/02/2014 at 5:08 pm.

"Forced by government agencies, it is shrinking business operations and taking measures for restructuring its activities to come out of its crisis.

But unemployment will be created unless alternate jobs are provided to the staff that is being shred."

My Comment on an article "Neeraj Arora: The man who played keyrole in whatsApp's rise." published in the Economic Times Dated 21/02/2014 at 3:41 pm.

A further comment on deliberately allowing Rupee to fall

Another reply by me to a comment on the article "Did the Indian government deliberately allow the rupee to fall?" published on 21/02/2014 at 3:34 pm.

"Petro products will naturally increase, as we are dependent on imports of petroleum products.

That is why the rates are increasing frequently.

Unless we find some alternative source, it will be a big problem for our economy.

We should try to be self sufficient as far as possible in all fields, if economy is to improve."

Another Comment on Deliberately allowing the Rupee to fall

My further comment in reply to a comment on the article "Did Indian government deliberately allow the rupee to fall?" published in the Economic Times Dated 21/02/2014 at 3:31 pm.

"If there is improvement in domestic production and domestic services, and we are in a position to export goods and services, there is certainly growth in our economy.

If we become self sufficient, rupee will automatically improve. We should not worry for its fall."

A Comment on Deliberately allowing the Rupee to fall

MY Comment on an article "Did the Indian government deliberately allow the rupee to fall?" published in the Economic Times dated 21/02/2014 at 3:27 pm.

"From the point of view of encouraging exports, it is good.

If you get extra rupees you are tempted to export more. It is good for restricting imports also.

If imports are restricted, you will be forced to consume domestic products. It will boost our industry.

So for more internal development it is a very good tool to make the rupee weaker against dollar and euros."

Your comment on the article ''Centre moves SC to stop release of Rajiv Gandhi's killers'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 20/02/2014 at 12:20 pm.

''The convicts have already suffered jail term of more than 23 years due to our judicial and government's pending decisions.

They underwent so much of tension and severe punishment to live in closed jail for so many years. Their families also underwent lot of mental hardships because of all this prolonged delay.

So there should not be any harm in freeing these convicts after putting to such a punishment.''

A Comment on Centre not accepting release of Rajiv Gandhi killers

Your comment on the article ''Centre moves SC to stop release of Rajiv Gandhi's killers'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 20/02/2014 at 12:05 pm.

(This is in reply to a reader's comment)
''You may be right in saying that the killers should have been gunned down or hanged to death. But it was not done so.

And 23 years passed in taking decision by courts and our President in dealing with them.

They have been put to rigorous imprisonment all these years instead of putting to death. It is already equal to death.

So, I think no harm in releasing them at this stage on humanitarian grounds seeing the agony of their families also.''

Your comment on the article ''Chidambaram 'working hard' to boost revenue by taxing my speeches: Narendra Modi'' is now displayed on timesofindia.com Dated 19/02/2014 at 5:54 pm.

''Mocking at Chidambaram or Manmohan Singh shows the innocence of the mockers.

Both these persons are very good economists and approach everything with practical and feasible solutions only. Not with elusive principles and ideas.

A Comment General Elections and IT sector

My Comment on an article "IT sector looks best bet to beat election volatility" published in the Economic Times Dated 19/02/2014 at 2:40 pm.

"Election atmosphere may not inspire any major changes in markets.

Major IT stocks already performing well and they will change only marginally as there is no hope of single party emerging major winner in ensuing elections.

So more or less there will not be much effect in markets."

A Comment on General elections vs. Stock markets

My Comment on an article "Will general elections be a non-event for stock markets?" published in the Economic Times Dated 19/02/2014 at 12:53 pm.

"I do not expect any correlation between elections and market reactions unless there is a landslide political change.

But as there is no such scope, nothing better is going to happen in the aftermath of elections.

What matters is a better policy maker at the centre with other state governments not hindering the central policies. So we must wait and see with blink future ahead."

My Comment on an article " Apple looking at cars, medical devices for growth" published in the Economic Times dated 19/02/2014 at 12:35 pm.

A Comment on effect of Excise Duty cut on inventory stuck Auto Cos.

My Comment on an article "Excise Duty cut may be taxing for auto companies stuck with inventory" published in the Economic Times Dated 19/02/2014 at 12:30 pm.

"This cut is presently beneficial to the customers only.

But demand may increase and when it increases, the inventories will get exhausted quickly.

So additional units sold can offset the extra burden on manufacturers within some period and there after they will be in profits due to increased sales. Ultimately it will improve economy."

My Comment on an article  "CAG says EPFO earned more paid less to members in four fiscals" published in the Economic Times Dated 18/02/2014 at 10:44 pm.

"The figures are not clear.

When interest earned is greater than amounts credited in respective years, then it must be a loss to the contributors.

Whoever might have drawn their amounts during these years must have been paid less by way of interest. So such difference amount of interest should be paid to them now."

A Comment on passing of Telangana Bill in Lok Sabha

My Comment on an article "Lok Sabha passes Telangana Bill amid TV blackout" published in the Economic Times Dated 18/02/2014 at 10:30 pm.

"Really a very black day in our Parliament history.

Bill passed secretly and within a couple of minutes by voice vote. What was the reason for such hasty action?

The Lok Sabha session could have been prolonged for some more days and detailed discussions made.

Passing the bill and declaring monetary compensation to Seemandhra would not fill the damage done to people. There will be many problems to both parts of the state in coming years which can not be met even in 10 years."

My Comment on an article "Major relief for education loan borrowers: 9 lakh students to benefit" published in the Economic Times Dated 17/02/2014 at 5:44 pm.

"This can be a great relief to deserving and economically backward students. They are relieved of arrears interest dues.

Now they should try to pay interest each month regularly and also a small bit of principal amount each month, say even a hundred rupees which can give them much relief in long run.

A Comment on Arvind Kejriwal quitting the CM post

My Comment on an article "Arvind Kejriwal displays arrogance of the honest by quitting CM post" published in the Economic Times Dated 16/02/2014 at 3:40 pm.

"Very good article.

I am confident that Arvind Kejriwal has done correct by quitting, as he realised that he can not fight with super powers and so can not fulfill his promises fully.

But he has brought to light many things and tried to do his best. He needs compliments for his honesty towards aam aadmi by quitting his lucrative post of CM."

A Comment on Arvind Kejriwal's sincerity as a crusader

My Comment on an article "Arvind Kejriwal a sincere crusader or a vote-bank politician?" published in the Economic Times Dated 16/02/2014 at 1:04 pm.

"A good presentation of the facts.

Congress and BJP should have cooperated with AAP in passing the bill if they were sincerely wishing for public welfare.

Corruption is the main obstacle in development of our country. Power and benefits of resources are being misused by a creamy few thereby depriving the public of their right to equal share of fruits from their hard labour."

A Comment on which is best bet: Gold, equities or deposits?

My Comment on an article "Gold, equities or deposits? Which is best bet for 2014?" published in the Economic Times dated 16/02/2014 at 12:40 pm.

"A good article.

Do not invest in gold as gold is unlikely to give any positive results. It's price can only decrease, but not increase.

So it is best to invest in Fixed Deposits and Equity Funds.

Deposits give you a stable fixed income of 9-10%. Equities give fluctuating returns which can be more than Deposits. But there is the risk factor in equities."
